Have you seen the improvements to the main entrance? We now have a gravelled parking area and new bollards. But wait, there’s more. A new information pedestal, funded by a Shire Cultural Grant should be installed shortly. And, a beautiful rock wall with our reserve’s name proudly displayed will be completed in the next month or so. These features are what you can see. Hidden, unless you venture in, our volunteers have passed a major milestone by managing the removal of the last of the Sweet Pittosporum (a local woody weed) below Wallaby Walk. There were thousands forming a dense jungle, and we thank Melbourne Water for their assistance. We are now revegetating with seedlings propagated at the Southern Dandenongs Community Nursery. Groups from AIG Insurance and Upwey High have assisted in planting nearly 600 seedlings. In a few years the area will be transformed.
